I'm interested in doing some timelapsed panoramas using the sidereal function to track the position of the stars, and to contrast that with a panorama of the same type activity, such as 4 shots of 15 seconds prior to a move to another location. Might someone provide a discussion of why one might or might not want/need an external intervalometer?  Danke vielmal!

An external intervalometer in combination with the PINE Controller in Slave Mode is mostly helpful for the timelapse mode when you want to achieve exposure/interval ramping for. Devices like the LRTimeLapse Pro Timer or the VIEW have such a capability to adjust the exposure or the interval.

You would need a cable with a 2.5mm TRS connector on both ends.

You can use one of our Canon Shutter Release cables we have in our shop.

It's under the "Canon Shutter Release Cable" product and then you select the E3 option.
