I am using a Sony XZ1 Smartphone. When trying to set new motor profile for my slider, it is not possible to move the motor because the moving buttons are off the display.  The moving buttons as shown in the "First Steps Guide" are not appearing and seems to be clipped. Is it possible to add a screenshot file to add to this topic ?

Regards

Markus

Hi Markus,

thank you for your feedback.

We are researching on this.

It would be good to attach a screenshot. You should be able to attach a file. Just below where you put the Text.

All the best,

Moritz

I see, there was a problem in the Settings.

It should now work for you.

Maybe you have to refresh the page.

All the best,

Moritz

Hi Moritz,

I just borrowed a tablet from a friend (Huawei M5), so I could check that with the motor ratio.

So I thought it could be very interesting to copy a configuration from one device to another. Even depending on the situation to use tablet or smartphone. Is it possible to copy a configuration from one tablet/smartphone to another ?

By the way, will there be an update to fix the problem withe Sony XZ1 ?

Regards

Markus

Hi Markus,

we are currently working on the issue with the screen size. It will be fixed in the next update.

Also the configuration file sounds like a good idea. We are considering to embed this function. At the moment it is not possible.

All the best,

Moritz

Hi Moritz,

I just tried the new update of the app on my Sony XZ1 Smartphone. When trying to set new motor profile the buttons for moving the motor can now be reached, just by scrolling the screen. So this issue is solved.

But nevertheless the app still does not connect to the Pine, when the GPS of the XZ1 smartphone is turned off. Did you check that with other smartphone models ? Is it perhaps a special problem of Sony smartphones ?

Regards
Markus

Hello Markus,

we released a new Update of the Android App today. The App now checks if the GPS is enabled at start up and will ask the user to enable it when it is turned off. At least this will give the user some hint to enable it whenever the App is launched.

All the best,

Patrick

Hi Patrick,

Sorry for the late feedback. The idea to ask for to switch on GPS works fine and is a good solution.
But what was your intention ? to enable GPS directly by your app (as for bluetooth) ?
When I start the PINE with GPS disabled the app switches after confirmation to enable GPS to the settings page.
So I have to enable GPS manually and then the return to the app.
For me the actual solution is very practible an sufficient, because I don't have to think about "why does the app not connect".

So this issue is solved for me. Let me know whether I can help you for further improvements as beta tester.

Regards
Markus

Hi Markus,

an Android App cannot activate the GPS function of a phone automatically (as compared to Bluetooth - which is possible). All we can do is, make the user aware and give the option to go into the phone settings to activate GPS manually, then go back to the App. This is exactly what we did in the last update.

Just let us know if there is anything you think is not working properly in the App. We are well past the beta stage of this app and many customers use the app without issues. But we are of course always open to suggestions and improvements.

All the best,

Patrick
